Love from USA - classic movie, I watched it in Los Angeles with an Indian friend. He requested to watch this during weekends and honestly I wasn't prepared but I am glad that I went with him and a common friend. Great Indian culture, history and really loved the visuals(especially the mountain trekking. Superb India and the real hero TANHAJI freedom fighter, huge respect to you. What you have done for the nation is unforgettable.

As per reports, locals of Rajasthan are protesting against the Arjun Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt and Kriti Sanon film, claiming misrepresentation of the Jats of Rajasthan. Panipat, which is based on the Third Battle Of Panipat, has Arjun Kapoor essay the role of Sadashiv Rao Bhau. In the film, when Sadashiv seeks the supports of Maratha ally Maharaja Surajmal in Rajasthan in their fight against Afghan invader Ahmad Shah Abdali (Sanjay Dutt), the latter is shown to negotiate a stiff deal with Sadashiv. When Sadashiv refused to agree to his terms, Maharaja Surajmal denied support against the Afghans. Tourism minister Vishvendra Singh of Rajasthan government, former Maharaja of Bharatpur, has lodged a protest regarding the way the character of Jat Maharaj Surajmal has been filmed in the Panipat film. The people from the Jat community of Rajasthan have resorted to burning effigies of director Ashutosh Gowariker in protest. BJP state president of Rajasthan, Satish Poonia has also lodged a protest against the kind of things that have been said about the Bharatpur's former Maharaj Surajmal and has sought to correct it. It is unfortunate that the legendary Jat ruler, Maharajah Suraj Mal has been depicted in an unseemly light and historical facts have been distorted in the film, Panipat. I believe that the film should be banned in view of the huge opposition in the Jat community of Haryana, Rajasthan and North India, otherwise, the law and order of the country may deteriorate. " The press release also claims that Panipat has not depicted historical facts correctly. The statement further reads, "I am from the 14th generation of Maharaja Surajmal Jat. The reality is that when the Peshwa and Maratha were returning from Panipat after losing the battle and wounded, Maharaja Surajmal and Maharani Kishori had sheltered the entire Maratha army and Peshwas for 6 months. Even Khanderao Holkar died in Kumher, the then capital of Bharatpur, and even today his umbrella remains in the village of Gagarsoli. " Arjun Kapoor (@arjunk26) December 6, 2019 Vishvendra Singh also suggested that films that are made on historical figures, dynasties or events, should go through a process of obtaining due permissions from authorised bodies before distorting facts on celluloid. He requested the government to set up a committee that will oversee this process. "I request the government to make a committee that if a film is made on a dynasty or a great person, permission should be obtained from the family and society before releasing such a movie. " Panipat released on December 6 and clashed at the box office with Kartik Aaryan, Bhumi Pednekar and Ananya Panday's Pati Patni Aur Woh. This caused a major dent in Panipat's early collections, as it managed to score just about Rs 4 crore on the opening Friday. I can’t believe the film is about to come out...
