Os experimentos mais bem-sucedidos, até mesmo nos Estados Unidos, com seus mais de dois milhões de presos, sugerem que descobrir formas de esvaziar cadeias é mais eficiente do que trabalhar para enchê-las. Há um outro detalhe: em nosso país, nas últimas décadas, tanto os índices de criminalidade quanto os números de presos só cresceram. Mais de impressionantes 900% nós últimos 30 anos. Com mais de 800 mil presos, somos, hoje, a terceira população carcerária do mundo. Mantidos os índices de encarceramento, chegaremos em 2025 com mais de um milhão e meio de detentos nas masmorras medievais do nosso sistema penitenciário. Alguma coisa está errada.  Além disso, o discurso punitivista cria um ambiente perfeito para o desenvolvimento de um sistema paralelo de “justiça”, ou, por que não dizer, de “justiçamento”. O que pretende um promotor quando vaza um documento sigiloso, a não ser instigar a opinião pública a julgar? Ou o que desejam os milicianos digitais ao atacar a honra de determinados alvos sem provas, com fakes e mentiras? E o que dizer ainda de juízes que se escoram mais em interpretações do que nos fatos e na lei? E a mídia? A mídia não poderia ficar de fora. Quando publica teorias infundadas, sem a devida checagem, municia os justiceiros, mesmo sem querer. É esse o caldo que leva inocentes para a cadeia. Por tudo que representa, é inevitável falar do processo que levou à prisão o ex-presidente Lula. Os bastidores, revelados nos áudios divulgados pela "vaza jato", mostram que o processo foi conduzido do começo ao fim pelo desejo de punir, e não pela missão de julgar. Ficamos com a impressão de que os despachos já estavam prontos e assinados antes das provas serem anexadas aos autos.  Um processo que começou pelo fim... Um drama, compartilhado por muitos outros Silvas. Luta por justiça  é o tipo de filme que deve ser visto por todos, em família, para nos lembrarmos que todos são inocentes até que se prove o contrário e que só o devido processo legal e uma sentença transitada em julgado tem o condão de dizer o contrário. O trabalho da Dora Cavalcanti e da Flavia Rahal é um sopro de esperança. Sem sombra de dúvida é a semente de uma mudança. Mesmo assim eu nunca vi ele chorar, ficar zangado ou se dar por vencido, ele está sempre disposto a melhorar, ele quer ser respeitado, é o sonho dele e o Rambo daria a vida por isso sem hesitar. If I was to list this film's greatest strength, that would be its ability to pull you into the characters' situation and feel their sense of frustration at the injustice they face. The film opens with one man being aggressively arrested for a crime he didn't commit, then transitions to a young student visiting prison for the first time, where he meets a peer who turns out to be more relatable than expected. From there, the audience sees how these men are driven, what they're fighting for, and how it effects their lives as well as the community around them.
Michael B Jordan, as usual, was fantastic. He did a great job portraying this young idealist who, despite being Harvard educated and possessing solid evidence, finds himself unable to make the difference he originally thought he could. Jamie Foxx's performance was also great; he displayed genuine vulnerability and emotion as this embittered, beaten-down (but still somewhat hopeful) man in a cruel world.
I had no issues with the technical aspects of this movie; they didn't do anything special nor did they do anything wrong. This being a legal drama, the script might feel a bit predictable to some, and some of the dialog/speeches seemed a bit too grandiose for real life. There are a few scenes, especially the two montages set to music, that felt a bit cliched, but this movie also has two particular sequences (which I won't spoil here) in the second half that are very effective and powerful.
Overall, this is a well-made and well-acted movie adapted from a pretty important true story, so I would recommend it to anyone interested in criminal justice or simply anyone who enjoys cinema made with a purpose.
*P.S, don't watch the full trailer; it showed way too much from the third act of the movie. I don't count that against the film itself, as the marketing team is separate from the cast and crew, but I just wanted to warn people.

The premise is a cop (no unreliable voice overs here) who had to learn the idiom of the whistling language for communicating with people living in interstitial spaces inside and outside of the law. Offbeat, at times hilarious in a deadpan way and rife with truly beautiful mise en scène, the film is a deconstructed tribute to this specific and particular film genre but operates outside of it. All the characters are vividly drawn, the supporting ones carry out the one-dimensionality of their roles with a certain lived-in freshness. The use of music was also very tasteful and deliberately operatic as counterpoint to the life-and-death situations, quirkily told. Corneliu Porumboiu seems to be having fun directing this story. it shows and I for one was swept by the story and storytelling.
